Welcome to Our Dental Practice
Integrated Aesthetic Dentistry is the leading prosthodontic practice in New York City. We specialize in providing exceptional cosmetic, implant, and reconstructive dentistry, in addition to preventive dental care for the whole family. Our Upper East Side dental services include:
Prosthodontics – Prosthodontists receive additional training and education after dental school that focuses on the restoration and replacement of natural teeth and jaw function. This means we’re specialists when it comes to full mouth restorations, dentures, and treatment for congenital oral defects and traumatic injuries.
Cosmetic Dentistry – Even a minor cosmetic dentistry procedure can make a dramatic difference in your appearance. Integrated Aesthetic Dentistry offers teeth whitening, cosmetic bonding, and porcelain veneers on the Upper East Side of NYC.
Invisalign – Invisalign is an innovative approach to orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear aligners to straighten teeth instead of metal brackets and wires.
Dental Implants – Our Manhattan prosthodontics practice provides dental implants on the Upper East Side, including single tooth implants, implant-supported bridges, implant-supported dentures, and teeth in a day. We use guided implant placement to plan all dental implant procedures for optimal results.
Same-Day Crowns – Our same-day crown service means that your tooth can be prepared and your crown can be placed all in a single appointment, eliminating the need for a temporary crown and multiple office visits.
Sleep Apnea Treatment – Oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for sleep apnea that repositions the lower jaw to keep the airway open during sleep.
TMJ Disorder Treatment – Prosthodontists have specialized training in jaw anatomy and function, which means we have the ability to diagnose and treat TMJ disorders. Our personalized approach addresses the underlying cause of your TMJ pain.
Sedation Dentistry – We offer nitrous oxide, IV sedation, and conscious oral sedation to help you stay calm and relaxed during your dental procedure.
Facial Aesthetics – Facial aesthetics require an understanding of the musculature of the face, which makes prosthodontists an excellent choice for these procedures. We offer BOTOX and dermal fillers on the Upper East Side.
Periodontal Procedures – Integrated Aesthetic Dentistry provides a range of periodontal treatments, including scaling and root planing, crown lengthening, gum grafting, bone grafting, and ridge preservation.
Restorative Dentistry – When it comes to restorative dentistry, our NYC dental practice uses a biomimetic approach, providing restorations that look and function like your natural teeth. Whether you get a filling, inlay or onlay, or dental bridge, you can be assured that your results will be durable and realistic.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a prosthodontist?
If you’re looking for an Upper East Side dentist that provides treatments that restore both function and aesthetics, consider a prosthodontist. Prosthodontists have advanced training beyond dental school which allows them to specialize in diagnosing, rehabilitating, and maintaining oral function, health, and appearance.
Is prosthodontics covered by insurance?
Yes, if you have dental insurance, our services are covered the same way they’d be covered for any other dental professional.
Is TMJ a medical or dental condition?
It’s a little bit of both—and it also depends on the underlying cause of your TMJ disorder. If, for example, your TMJ pain is caused by joint damage from arthritis, it may be viewed as more of a medical condition. The good news is that no matter what the cause of your TMJ disorder, prosthodontists can diagnose it. Our advanced training includes education on the anatomy and function of the jaw, so there’s no one better to see for TMJ pain.
What is a CEREC crown?
We offer CEREC crowns on the Upper East Side because we believe they’re superior to traditional crowns. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics and with this technology, we can prepare your tooth, design and fabricate a restoration, and then place that restoration permanently all on the same day.
How long do dental implants last?
The dental implants themselves—the posts that are implanted into your jaw—are designed to be a permanent replacement for the roots of your teeth and meant to last a lifetime. The restorations attached to your dental implants may need eventual replacement, but these can last decades with exceptional care.
How much does it cost for Invisalign on the Upper East Side?
The cost of Invisalign on the Upper East Side ranges between $3000 and $7000, with the exact price depending on the number of aligners you need and how long your treatment takes.
How do veneers work?
Porcelain veneers are designed to cover your natural tooth to hide imperfections. A small amount of tooth enamel is removed, then veneers are bonded directly to the surface of your tooth. Because work is done on the surface level only, veneers don’t compromise the health of your overall tooth structures.
What is a crown lengthening procedure?
Crown lengthening can be done for cosmetic reasons (to correct a “gummy smile”) or to enable crown placement by exposing more tooth surface. It involves trimming excess gum tissue. Your gums will be numbed, so you won’t experience any pain while we work, but you may feel some tenderness after the procedure.
Can you feel pain when sedated?
Sedation and anesthesia are two separate things. If you’re undergoing a procedure that has the potential to be painful, we’ll always provide you with local anesthesia to ensure you’re comfortable and experience no pain during the appointment. Sedation can be used in addition to local anesthesia to help soothe anxiety.
Can a dentist treat sleep apnea?
Yes, dentists can treat sleep apnea; because sleep apnea can often be corrected by repositioning the lower jaw, prosthodontists are particularly skilled at the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. We offer oral appliance therapy as a first line of treatment for patients with this sleep disorder.

What Our Patients Are Saying
"I have been to a lot of dentists and I have to say Dr. Cafarella is by far the best dentist I've seen. He has an excellent chairside manner and was not only thorough but gentle. For someone with mild dental anxiety, I can say I felt very relaxed throughout my long appointments; I had a full mouth of cosmetic work done and it looks amazing and so natural. Another plus was that he worked for hand in hand with his lab technician to get the shade and shape of the teeth just right. He is by far the best cosmetic dentist in the city. I am fully confident I have found my forever dentist."
"Dr. Mike performed a complicated extraction and implant and couldn’t have done a better job. The whole process was pain-free with minimal bleeding and I couldn’t be happier with his services. Definitely one of the best dentists on the upper east side. The office staff was always so welcoming and prompt in responding to any inquiries that I have throughout the whole process. I am a senior citizen and they never failed to put me at ease with their knowledge and friendly demeanors. I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!"
