In 2009, Dr. Barsoum opened a private practice with Dr. Cafarella in the Greenwich Village office. Once in private practice, she discovered her passion for treating patients with complex dental issues and facial pain resulting from the high-stress lifestyle to which New Yorkers have become accustomed. Her extensive experience has provided relief for all types of patients: CEOs, athletes, film producers, actors, writers, moms and dads, fellow health care providers, and many, many more who have sought out her expertise.

Having adopted New York City as their hometown after living here for 15 years, Dr. Barsoum and Dr. Cafarella enjoy living in the city with their three young sons.

He cross-trained in the traditional Japanese arts of Judo and Aikido as well. More recently, he has practiced Boxing, Muay Thai, and Kali. The martial arts undoubtedly develop focus and a strong mind-body connection. His favorite Kanji character has always been TAN REN, meaning “forge” and “polish,” which literally refers to the sword-making traditions of feudal Japan; however, it also elucidates the importance of hard work and repetition in the development of skill. This harmonizes perfectly with the practice of dentistry.

Drs. Cafarella and Barsoum are the parents of three little boys, Luca, and twins Leo and Laith. They enjoy the beach, arts and crafts, hiking, nature walks, and cooking together as a family.
